Wagner College Master Plan, 2018, Staten Island, NY

The success of any college or university is determined by the strength of its academic programs, the quality of its administration, faculty and staff, and the organization and beauty of its physical environment.

L.R. Kimball updated the Wagner Master Plan in 2018. The initial version of the Master Plan was adopted in 2003, and was updated in 2009. This new plan incorporates changes made over the past nine years, including the building of Foundation Hall, renovations to Main and Pape, and looks forward to a future academic facility, the Center for Global Learning, putting Wagner College squarely into the delivery of 21st century college education.

Engaging the administrative, academic and student communities, individually and collectively, with a series of workshops, we delved into what each group perceived as campus or community needs and desires, what they perceived was good and as unsatisfactory about the current campus infrastructure and facilities. As the plan began to take shape and direction, we re-engaged with a series of meetings scheduled over the plan development process, constantly sharing and gaining insight, incorporating all stakeholders. Our master plan process fosters collaboration, encourages thought-provoking dialogue and provides an outcome that capitalizes on a campus’s unique characteristics, establishing responsible growth and development, recruitment and retention.
