Tierney Communications, Reception, Theater & Conference Renovation, Philadelphia, PA
Tierney Communications has a premier location: it’s situated right in the Bellevue Stratford, a historic building in the heart of Center City. Yet the formal character of the building didn’t ring true with the dynamic, creative and sometimes whimsical nature of its advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns. As a firm that prides itself on being “genuine”, Tierney wanted the design for its new offices – including a new reception area and presentation theater – to better reflect its nature and to inspire all who entered.
Sleek, modern spaces where ideas could easily flow were created. Visitors stepping off the elevator are greeted by a linear sweep of lights and a patterned stone floor that lead them into the reception area, where angled walls are juxtaposed to form a distinctive asymmetrical space. Within the angled geometry of the wood paneled walls, the back-lit reception desk becomes the focal point. The reception desk and waiting area furnishings become pieces of art and sculpture in the gallery-like space.
Within this design, there’s plenty of room for the “insight, honesty, entertainment and magic” that Tierney brings to its partnerships with clients.
