Project Description

Reproductive Health Specialists – Medical Outpatient Building
Pittsburgh, PA

L.R. Kimball provided services related to the conversion of the former Tivoli Restaurant building into the new Reproductive Health Specialists Ambulatory Surgery Center.  The project consisted of approximately 14,000 square feet of renovated space and an addition of 1,500 square feet to the existing building which formerly housed the Tivoli Restaurant.  The scope encompassed design and documentation to change the type of building from a restaurant to an outpatient surgery center and medical office building.

The existing building had an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS) and was showing heavy signs of wear.  The EIFS was replaced with a building skin consisting of wood and stone, thus creating a more inviting building for patients and staff.  A vertical tower of glass and stone was added to accentuate the main building entrance as well as provide an ADA-accessible entry.
