Delaware State University
When Delaware State set its aspirations on increasing enrollment on its 400-acre Dover campus, it quickly realized it needed a comprehensive master plan to provide guidance for growth.
A detailed space utilization study was immediately undertaken to assess the current use of facilities, identify space shortages, and determine future needs. From this research came a transformational plan that outlined what the university could become. The recommendations included expansions of academic space, student residences, student life facilities, student life facilities, athletics and parking. The recommendations also addressed such campus improvements as campus open spaces, landscaping, lighting, circulation, signage and security.
