Launching the Federal Next Generation 9-1-1 Effort
In 2007, the USDOT led a federal effort alongside the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Department of Commerce to help launch NG9-1-1. L.R. Kimball worked with a team of consultants to assist the DOT with this effort, resulting in a concept of operations for NG9-1-1, a high-level architectural design and a Proof of Concept System.
