JACKSON STREET BRIDGE
Gallitzin, PA

This project involves the replacement of a two-span, steel structure that was built in the mid 1800's. The bridge spans 150 feet over the eastbound and westbound mainline tracks of the Norfolk Southern Railroad. To maintain the historic nature of the site, the existing pier stem constructed of cut stone is being preserved. The abutments are being replaced, but decorative form liners were added to match the cut stone. A new steel railing will closely match the original. Street lighting on the bridge was selected to enhance the historic character of the final design.
