Our commitment to sustainability has helped set the standard in sports facility green design. For example, Medlar Field, on the campus of Penn State University, was completed in 2006 and was the first ballpark in the U.S. to earn LEED certification. L.R. Kimball served as the lead architect and designer for the project.

Designing the First LEED Certified Baseball Park in the U.S.
L.R. Kimball led the design effort for Penn State University’s Medlar Field, a 5,500-seat, 152,194-square-foot baseball park that was completed in 2006. Medlar Field was the first ballpark in the country to earn LEED certification and has been heralded as one of America’s best ballparks. It is home to the Penn State baseball team and a minor league team from the New York-Penn League.
