Bridge CADD Specialist
Pittsburgh, PA

We have an immediate career opportunity for a talented Bridge CADD Specialist.  The successful candidate must be able to prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information using CADD software programs. 

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Produce CADD drawings and files.
  • Perform advanced CADD layout tasks.
  • Prepare drawings for project submissions.
  • Revise or change drawings; trace or copy existing drawings; and complete calculations with specific engineering instruments.
  • Ensure drawing deliverables are accurate, complete and in compliance with company and client CADD / drawing standards.
  • Maintain continuing education for MicroStation software.

Qualifications Required:
Requires associate’s degree in CADD technologies; one to three years of experience with production of bridge design drawings; and experience with MicroStation is a must.  Experience with bridge detailing is preferred.

CADD Manager                                                                              
Ebensburg, PA

We are seeking a talented MicroStation CADD Manager to perform and assign non-routine and complex CADD projects within our Transportation Division. 

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced CADD layout tasks.
  • Assign, manage, and prepare drawings for project submissions.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Designers and recommend minor design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion.
  • Manage client/sub-consultant CADD coordination issues.
  • Assure that drawing deliverables are accurate, complete, and in conformance with company and/or client (predominantly PennDOT) established CADD/drawing standards.
  • Promote team spirit along with a friendly atmosphere.
  • Seek and implement new additional means of communication that will improve the flow and distribution of information.
  • Mentor and lead other CADD staff members.
  • Actively pursue continuing education, training, or professional development activities to remain current with industry standards.
     

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher in CADD-related curriculum is desired; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. The successful candidate will possess at least seven years of progressive experience in computer drafting work in appropriate technical discipline, good communication and organization skills, ability to multi-task, and strong management skills are required.  PennDOT or other related transportation industry experience, including plan production and presentation experience, is a must. Expertise with MicroStation and computer graphics skills are required.

Senior Transportation Project Manager
Harrisburg, Wilkes-Barre or Philadelphia, PA

We have an immediate need for a Senior Transportation Project Manager in our Harrisburg, Wilkes-Barre and/or Philadelphia regional offices. 

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Senior Project Manager on mid-to large-sized Transportation projects (highways and/or bridges) in the eastern Pennsylvania region.
  • Lead and support design teams and project teams, as well as provide client maintenance services.
  • Responsible for budgeting and profitability for projects being managed.
  • Lead Kimball’s business development/marketing efforts in the Eastern PA region.
  • Prepare proposals (with marketing team support) and deliver presentations to existing and potential clients in the Eastern PA Region.

Qualifications:
The Senior Transportation Project Manager must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; master’s degree is preferred.  The candidate must be registered as a licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in PA and have at least 10-15 years of experience in Transportation Engineering with a concentration in highways and/or bridges.  The qualified candidate must have 5+ solid years of managing Transportation projects.  Candidates must have with experience with PennDOT project development standards and various PennDOT districts.

Highway Engineer in Training

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering reports under direct supervision of a registered professional engineer.
  • Perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks

Construction Inspectors

We are preparing for the 2008 construction inspection season and are seeking resumes for construction inspectors. The responsibilities for these positions vary but can include: inspection of major roadway and bridge projects; testing of soils, concrete, and bituminous paving; calculating quantities for estimate payments; completing daily field reports; and CDS/NextGen operations.
